SRINAGAR, June 28: Describing unemployment as the biggest challenge before the State, People’s Democratic Party (PDP) president Mehbooba Mufti said the party is evolving a workable plan to ensure proper development of human resource and harness the immense potential of youth for their own growth and that of the State.
Addressing a public meeting in Wachi of Shopian district today, she said Omar Abdullah led Government has miserably failed in addressing the development issues including unemployment. She said Omar Abdullah, as Chief Minister, received unprecedented support from the Centre even while his Government proved to be a disaster on Governance, development and human rights front. “But he never tried to leverage his clout and influence for the benefit of the State and instead multiplied the problems as a result of his ineptitude, inefficiency and arrogance of style”, she added.
She said the Government is now trying to undo the damage it has caused during last five and a half years through its reckless and desperate measures but it is still not waking up to the real issues facing the people.
Mehbooba said J&K is going through a difficult phase and the present Government instead of making a positive impact on the ground, has held everything hostage to its inefficiency and ineptness to deliver. With the result, she said, the common man is suffering for basic amenities like power, water, ration, etc, she added.
She, however, exhorted the hope that people will now ensure that a new system, based on equality and justice, shall find its place to take the State forward on modern line.
