JAMMU, June 30: Despite the directions of the Supreme Court with regard to extending parity of wage structure of Regional Rural Bank (RRB) employees, the RRB Staff is not getting pension at par with Commercial Banks. The pension scheme of the RRB employees needs to be modified and they should get pension analogous to the employees of other Central Banks.
This was stated by A Sayeed Khan, Secretary General, All India Regional Rural Bank Employees Association, while addressing to media persons at Press Club, here today.
Mr Khan was accompanied by the office bearers of the J&K Grameen Bank Officers Association (GBOA).
He said the formation of National Rural Bank of India (NRBI) is the need of the hour as the work and functioning of the Grameen Banks has been appreciated at all quarters.
He further appealed the Governments and the concerned authorities for regularization/absorption of part-time/daily waged workers in Regional Rural Banks as they have been left in the lurch with no sin of theirs.
The Association also appealed the Central Government for early withdrawal of SLP lodged against their genuine case.
Criticizing the UPA Government for its indifferent treatment towards RRB employees, the Association appealed the new Government for early redressal of their genuine demands.
Prominent among others who attended the press conference were Mohan Singh Jasrotia, president J&K Grameen Bank Officers  Association (GBOA), Varinder Sharma, general secretary, Ravinder Kachroo, assistant general sectary and Dalip Gupta, cash secretary.
