ASKPC for protection of Ram temple at Shopian

JAMMU, June 30: The Management Committee of Ram Mandir, Shopian attended the office of All State Kashmiri Pandit Conference (ASKPC) and apprised its leadership about the damages done by the anti-national elements to the Ram Mandir in Shopian Town.
Addressing the meeting, R K Raina, senior vice president, ASKPC said that it was not the first time to attack the Hindu religious places by the anti-national elements in the Valley, but many a times such people attacked these places in the Valley which from time to time was brought to notice of the Government.
He said the Government always failed to save such religious places and never gave any heed to our requests. However, he urged the Government to take action against the culprits who have attacked the Ram temple in Shopian Town.
The meeting also said that some time back vested interests in the district attacked the temple and damaged it many times besides tried to grab the land of the temple, but the concerned management got it repaired with full cooperation of the District Development Commissioner concerned.
It said that  the Committee started fencing of the temple after consulting the DC but some land grabbers of the area got the fencing demolished through concerned Municipal authorities.
