Srinagar, July 12: The work on Economic Reconstruction Agency (ERA) projects across the State has been badly hit after the engineers working with the project went on indefinite strike following alleged beating up of their colleague by Additional Deputy Commissioner, Srinagar at Hyderpora.
The engineering activities across the State are likely to be affected from July 17 as various engineering associations have called for indefinite strike against the beating up of Engineer Mushtaq Ahmad Shah, Junior Engineer-Economic Reconstruction Agency by Additional Deputy Commissioner, Srinagar, Mohammad Aslam Qadri. The JE was put in a police lock up on ADC’s complaint in the Police Station Sadder after he was allegedly beaten up.
The engineering associations have also taken strong exception to the detention of ERA Junior Engineer at Police Station, Saddar and condemned the police action. The engineers said that they would suspend the work unless the ADC Srinagar does not tender an unconditional apology to Engineer Mushtaq.
Meanwhile, the engineers of Economic Reconstruction Agency (ERA) have already gone on an indefinite strike
