Another intrusion bid foiled

JAMMU, July 2: Army last night thwarted another infiltration attempt along the Line of Control (LoC) in Balnoi sector of Poonch district. This was fourth intrusion bid by the militants foiled by the troops on the LoC in Poonch district during last seven days.
Official sources said a group of three to four militants tried to infiltrate into the Indian territory from near Bhagwan Post in Balnoi sector of Poonch district at 1.45 am today.
The alert troops opened firing aiming the direction the militants were taking to reach close to the fencing. After heavy volume of firing, the militants escaped back to their launching pads in Pakistan occupied Kashmir (PoK).
“The infiltration attempt was successfully foiled,” sources said.
This was fourth infiltration attempt foiled by the Army along the LoC in Poonch district. The previous three attempts were foiled in Tarkundi and Langiot forward areas of Balakote and Mendhar sectors.
Sources said Army was anticipating more such infiltration attempts by the militants on the LoC.
