JAMMU, July 3: Oral Maxillofacial Surgery-a branch of Dentistry has been started under the guidance of Dr Romesh Gupta Medical Superintendent Government Hospital Gandhi Nagar Jammu and on the instructions of Dr B S Pathania, Director Health Services Jammu at Govt Hospital Gandhi Nagar, here today.
Recently a rare surgery has been performed on a nine year old boy namely Avtar Singh R/o Kot Bhalwal Jammu who was suffering from a huge Cystic Lesion of upper Jaw Bone.
The boy was investigated and planned for removal of cyst and reconstruction of the jaw using hip bone.
The operation was successfully performed by Dr Gourav Gupta Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon, Consultant in the same Institution and Senior Anesthetic, Dr Arun Arora and Dr Qamur-Un-Nisa alongwith theatre staff including Ashwani Wadhera, Rakesh Bakshi and Rajinder Bhagat.
