Only one Kashmiri crosses to other side, 12 PoK residents arrive

SRINAGAR : Twelve fresh guests from Pakistan-occupied-Kashmir (PoK) arrived here while only one Kashmiri crossed over to other side of the Line of Control (LoC) to meet their relatives, separated in 1947. As many as 29 returnees also cross sides at Kaman post, the last Indian military post on this side of the LoC in Uri sector in north Kashmir district of Baramulla, official sources said here today.
They said 12 POK guests arrived at Kaman post after crossing the Aman Setu, peace bridge on foot. They included four women and as many children.
Sources said eleven Kashmiris, who had gone to PoK, returned to their homes after completing stay there. They included three women and two children. However, only one Kashmiri crossed over to PoK to meet his relatives, separated in 1947. This is the for the second week only one resident of this side crossed over to other side.
They said 18 PoK residents, who had arrived here in previous Karvan-e-Aman bus, operating between Srinagar and Muzaffarabad, returned to their homes after completing stay here.
The bus service, started on April 7,2005, has helped thousands of families, divided in 1947 due to partition, to meet each other.
