DODA, July 10: District Development Commissioner, Doda Mubarak Singh today flagged off three-day Annual Mata Chandi Yatra from Kulhand to the Shia Dhar (Chandi Top) Bharat Doda.
More than 3000 devotess from Doda, Bharat, Dessa, Bhagwah and other adjoining areas would participate in the yatra and take blessing of the Mata Chandi.
While flagging off the pilgrims, DDC said that the yatra will bring prosperity and peace in the life of the people of the district. He said these yatras depict the peace and harmony among different sections of the society living in the area and also strengthen the communal harmony in the district.
DDC congratulated the Mata Chandi Mandir Committee Kulhand for organizing annual pilgrimage. The Committee members demanded that the road to the holy shrine of Mata Chandi must be constructed so that more and more pilgrims visit the shrine and take blessing of the Mata Chandi. They also said that the area can also be developed as a tourism pilgrimage destination in the district.
The Annual 3-day Chandi Mata Yatra is being conducted in the month of July every year from Hanail Village Gadiyari to Shia Dhar, the holy shrine of Mata Chandi commonly known as  (Chandi Top).
