JAMMU, July 10: The fast-unto-death by dental surgeons entered sixth consecutive day, while their dharna entered 10th consecutive day at Amphalla Chowk Jammu and Press Enclave, Srinagar.
Hundreds of unemployed dental surgeons assembled at aforesaid sites under the banner of Dental Surgeons Associations Jammu and Kashmir (DSA-JK) and raised slogans against the callous and arrogant attitude of Government towards the grievances of unemployed youth of the State.
Hundreds of unemployed dental surgeons today marched from Amphalla Chowk to Directorate of Health Services, Jammu where they submitted the memorandum of their demands to concerned authorities.
The protestors warned the Government that their peaceful march can take a serious turn and Government will be responsible for any happening if their demands are not redressed at the earliest.
Two doctors namely Dr Pawan Singh and Dr Shivam Gupta, who were sitting on fast-unto-death were also the part of protest march inspite of their deteriorating condition.
As the condition of duo deteriorated further, they were shifted to Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), where they were undergoing treatment, when reports last came in.
The protestors led by President of the Association Dr Asif Iqbal Chowdhary also met Director Health Services and submitted memorandum of demands.
While speaking, Dr Chowdhary said that their agitation will not be called off and can take even more serious turn if their demands are not resolved at the earliest.
He demanded complete absorption of unemployed dental youth, recruitment of dental surgeons on yearly basis and establishment of separate directorate for dental health in the State.
