Bhoomi Pujan, Dhwajarohan organised at Pahalgam

SRINAGAR :  ‘Bom Bom Bolay and Har Har Mahadev’ rented in the air when ‘ Chhari Mubarak’, the silver Mace of Lord Shiva left Dashnami Akhara this morning for Pahalgam on the occasion of ‘Vyas Purnima’ for ‘Bhoomi Pujan and Dhwajarohan’.    Mahant Deependra Giri, custodian of Chhari Mubarak led the devotees, carrying the Chhari Mubarak.    He said as per age old traditions and rituals “Bhoomi Pujan, Navgrah Pujan and Dhawajarohan,” connected with the commencement of annual yatra, shall be performed at Pahalgam on the auspicious occasion of ‘Ashad Purnima (Vyas Purnima) today.    He said the holy Mace left Dashnami Akhara near here at 0615 hrs for Pahalgam, where pujan was held.    After performing the rituals, the Chhari Mubarak will return to Dashnami Akhara this evening.
However, pujan shall also be performed at the historic Martan Temple of Mattan, on way to Srinagar from Pahalgam.    Meanwhile, a spokesman of the Giri denied media reports that Chhari Mubarak will be taken to holy cave shrine today.    He said the report is misleading and incorrect. “We have already released a detailed programme about this year,s pilgrimage,” he added.
