LONDON, July 12: ‘Mrs Brown’s Boys D’Movie’, the comedy film based on the sitcom of the same name is all set to have a sequel.
Head of BBC Films Christine Langan said that she is hopeful that the sitcom spin-off will receive a second instalment, reported Independent.
Langan said that writer and performer Brendan O’Carroll “is wonderful to work with”, adding that “the audience love him and we would want to keep that relationship going.”
‘Mrs Brown’s Boys D’Movie’ has been very commercially successful, topping the British box office chart for two weeks.
The film sees Mrs Brown fighting to save her market stall from a ruthless developer.
On the possibility of a sequel, Langan said, “I wouldn’t be surprised if there was a sequel. There isn’t a script as far as I know. But I very much hope that he will come up with a sequel and I don’t imagine he won’t.
“It’s great fun – he’s good at it. He has got a huge audience. We see Brendan as being absolutely brilliant BBC talent. What we can do at BBC Films is get BBC talent onto another platform.
“We will see if this can be sustained but it has already done way more than most British films do,” she added. (PTI)
