Only 47 NDPS cases pending in FSL

JAMMU, July 15: Notwithstanding the general perception that NDPS cases have been piling up in the FSL Jammu/Srinagar, the official data revealed that at present only 47 such cases are pending disposal.
According to an official data, from 2011 onwards till June 30, 2014, FSL Srinagar received a total of 987 NDPS cases out of which 962 were disposed of. At present, only 25 cases are pending disposal in FSL Srinagar.
Similarly, FSL Jammu disposed of 453 cases during this period and at present only 22 cases are pending. “These cases can be disposed of expeditiously in case Zonal IGs send priority lists”, an official spokesman said.
He said that all the backlog cases pending for examination from the year 2006 stands disposed off and no case is pending up to December 31, 2013.
