JAMMU, July 24: The president and other office bearers of PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry, (CCI) Jammu Chapter called on the Commissioner of Income Tax, J&K, A.K. Thatai in his chamber at Aayakar Bhawan, here today.
The delegation was led by Vikrant Kuthiala, Chairman, PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Jammu Chapter. During the course of meeting, the members appreciated the working of Income Tax Department and lauded the role being played by the senior officers and other officials of Income Tax Department in providing the assessee friendly and transparent tax administration.
They also praised good working environment prevalent in the Income Tax Department at Jammu and the services being provided by ASK Centre here. They assured Mr Thatai, their full cooperation in meeting the targets of Income Tax Department, for financial year. 2014-15.
The Commissioner IT assured them that the Department would always keep its promise to provide excellent tax payer services and assessee friendly environment in the Department in the State. Mr Thatai, also appraised the members about the target of budget collection for F.Y. 2014-15 which stands at Rs 1400 Crores (approximately) and sought cooperation from all groups of assessee to make this target possible.
R. K. Kakar, the Joint Commissioner of Income Tax also spoke at the occasion and assured the representative of his best cooperation in mitigating any grievance which the assessee might have. Mini Chandran U, Deputy Commissioner of I T (HQ) also assured the delegation of stepping up all the possible administrative measures for providing good assessee friendly environment in Income Tax Department. Apart from Vikrant Kuthiala, Chairman, Vinod Sachdeva, Rajender Motyal, Deepak Dattri, Rahul Sahai, Kuldeep Gupta, Rhul Gandotra and M. L. Mathur were also present on the occasion.
