Traffic cop among 9 injured in road accidents

SRINAGAR, July 24: Nine persons including a traffic policeman were injured in different road accidents across the Valley.
A police spokesman said a tipper JK01L-4374 hit a motor cycle JK15/2274 near Wungipora in Bandipora, resulting in injuries to the motorcyclist Mohammad Amin Yatoo son of Ali Mohammad of Sultanpora and his two pillions Rameez Ahmad Hurra son of Ghulam Hassan Hurra of Naidkhai and Kousar Ahmad Yatoo son of Mohammad Yousuf Yatoo of Sultanpora.
All the injured were shifted to PHC Sumbal for treatment.
A load carrier JK03A/6154 turned turtle near Danew, Kulgam in Kulgam. In this accident five persons Javid Ahmad Sheikh son of Bashir Ahmad, Zahid Ahmad son of Muzaffar, Aadil Ahmad son of Mohammad Yousuf Khanday, Tawheed Ahmad son of Nazir Ahmad Ganaie and Naseer Ahmad son of Nazir Ahmad Khanday all of Danew Kulgam who were boarding the load carrier were injured. All the injured were shifted to a hospital for treatment.
In another accident, a truck bearing registration number JK22/0349 hit and injured an on duty Traffic Policeman Jehangir Ahmad No.213/SPO at Shirmal, Shopian. He was shifted to a hospital for treatment.
The spokesman said police has registered cases in these accidents.
