Court awards one year imprisonment to Matador driver

JAMMU, July 24: Chief Judicial Magistrate Reasi Sunit Gupta today awarded one year imprisonment and fine Rs 2000 to Manjeet Singh a Matador driver who was facing trial for the last six years for causing death of one Jamat Ali due to rash and negligent driving.
CJM Reasi Sunit Gupta after hearing CPO DP Singh for the State observed that from the evidence on record it is established that the accused was grossly negligent in diving the vehicle and held that prosecution has succeded in the case and awarded one imprisonment and fine Rs 2000 to Manjeet Singh.
