KATHUA, July 25:  Minister of State for Fisheries, Cooperatives, Finance and Planning Dr Manohar Lal Sharma inaugurated Surara road in Billawar tehsil today.
Dr Sharma was accompanied by SDM Billawar R.S Charak during the inauguration.
After inaugurating the road, the Minister addressed a large gathering and said that on the inauguration of newly built first phase of Petrol pump-Surara road, the road connectivity to Surara village and its adjoining Panchayats would be provided. He said Government is committed to connect every locality with nearest headquarter by providing road connectivity. He disclosed that the road is completed at an estimated cost of Rs. 93 lakh out of total sanctioned Rs 179.83 lakh. He directed the PWD Department to complete the remaining stretch of the road at an earliest for the convenience of the people.
Later, various deputations of Billawar tehsil met the Minister and projected their development related issues.
Regarding shortage of drinking water Dr Sharma asked the PHE Department to take necessary measures in mitigating the genuine problems of the people.
Later, the Minister also inaugurated link road from Kishanpur to Nargari.
Among others XEn PWD, PMGSY, Flood Control, Tehsil Supply Officer, AEE PWD were also present.
Earlier, the Minister also laid foundations of tourism facilities in Phinter, Rampur, Thaintu, Ghari, Sheetla Mata Mandir Rampur, Shiv Cave Sharad Thaintu, Shiv Mandir Ghari Tharakalwal and Dharamkote of tehsil Billawar today. The tourist facilities would be completed at an estimated cost of Rs. 93 lakh.
