“Karmanaiva hi samsiddhimasthita janakadayah
lokasangrahamevapi sampasyankartumarhasi”
(Bhagavadgita 20/III)
‘It is through action alone that Janaka and other men of wisdom attained Perfection. Therefore, in the interest of maintenance of world order, thou must act.’
“mamupetya punarjanma duhkhalayamasasvatam
napnuvanti mahatmanah samsiddhim paramam gatah”
(Bhagwadgita 15/VIII)
‘Great souls, who having come to me, attained the highest perfection, are no more subjected to rebirth, which is the abode of sorrows and transient by nature’.
God is the parent of us all and resides in our heart. He is exceptionally visible in perfectionists. A perfectionist is honored by the Lord with all other merits of truth, non-violence, love, fearlessness, contentment, humility, compassion, passion for service and altruism. Although an ideal human being, such a person is made to undergo several ordeals and long tight rope walk before being graced with perfection. God is always on the talent-hunt and Himself chooses such remarkable persons as will do His Will.
Arjuna was one among millions to realize Lord’s Will Lord chiselled him by revealing His sovereign power. Lord ‘says “.. I am splendour of the splendid, victory of the victorious, resolve of the resolute, goodness of the good” (Bhagavadgita 36/X).
Sant Tuka Ram, a role model of Devotion, was perfect to accomplish his unmatched achievement. While addressing the Lord, he said-
“God, you debtor,
You have taken the loan of bhakti from me,
And pawned Your feet to me,
God, give me the interest of love,
And clear soon your account.”
Gandhi Ji was Lord’s great favourite who practised and preached truth and non-violence and carried out Lord’s will. Emperor Janaka was a perfect ruler and a perfect master too who initiated Sukdeva to renunciation.
Only a perfect Prime Minister like Chanakaya could bring Golden period to India when Chandra Gupta ruled. Only a perfect Union Agriculture Minister like Dr C Subramaniam could bring Green Revolution in India for which he was honored with Bharat Rattna. Another blessed soul has been Mother Teresa, Bharat Rattna, who on a Divine Message on 10th of September, 1946, concentrated herself to alleviate the sufferings of hundreds of thousands leprosy victims, orphans, widows, unwanted abandoned children, hungry and dying destitute through her Missionaries of Charities. Nearest and dearest to God, often she loudly prayed “God is good, God is truth, God is love, Praise Him”. Of all the virtues, perfection is flawless accomplishment. All Gods, goddesses, sages, seers and saints attained perfection before fulfilling purpose of their birth on this planet. Undoubtedly, the society is upheld by the veracity of perfectionists. They scaled new heights in the fields of human endeavour. Free from the evil of temptations, they create soul elevating influence on others. A perfectionist is whole heartedly devoted to work excellence, gives spiritual treat to his every action and possesses inflinching faith in God. He is well-disciplined and does not transgress the line of caution. He is equipped with magnificent level of discrimination that leads to amazing success saturated with perfection. His undeterred determination is one of the most visible attribute of perfection.
Perfection is desirable in every field, may be an office, factory, play – field, battle-field, spiritual pursuit, house-hold chores, business, agriculture, teaching, research, medicine or any other occupation. But hardly few achieve it because most of them are neither whole-heartedly devoted to their undertaking nor care to steer themselves to merits sine qua non for reaching the altar of perfection.
It is a pity to find that some people occupying very responsible positions are no where near the quality of perfection themselves not to seak of those workers under them. They accept things done in perfunctory and slip shod manner. Persons at the helm of affairs ought to embrace perfection themselves and ensure its transfusion in those whom they are heading.
This wide spread emulation among the people can fetch us the much talked about Ram Rajya. Principal personalities ought to develop noble qualities in the name of India in particular and humanity at large.
Work culture needs to be revolutionized and professional ethics strictly adhered to which demand serious thought of social responsibility. Spirit of sacrifice and selflessness are the hall marks of perfection. This phenomenon is bound to help healthy growth of men and material ensuring plenty, peace and prosperity. Perfectionists would never accept imperfection. They keep striving for perfection to surround them in every sphere of activity.
