52 lost lives on NH in Ramban this year

JAMMU, July 15: Ramban district has become more vulnerable to the tragic road accidents with over 52 persons losing their lives since January 1 this year.
Though numerous accidents took place on Jammu-Srinagar National Highway 1A during this period yet the number of casualties in the Ramban district was much more than the other parts of the highway.
Following is the chronology of the accidents which took place in Ramban district particularly on NH during the current year so far.
January 23: Three persons were killed when a car plunged into gorge at Nihad in Ramban district.
February 17: Two persons got killed and three sustained critical injuries when a truck rolled down into nullah at Desool near Ramban.
February 18: Four of a family among six lost their lives and three injured when a car plunged into Khooni Nullah after hit by mud-slide.
February 21: Two persons were killed and three sustained injuries after a boulder hit Tavera vehicle at Ramban.
March 24: Eight persons lost their lives and 38 injured when a bus and a van rolled down into gorge and Chenab river at Ramban and Batote-Doda-Kishtwar National Highway 1B.
April 14: Four persons got drowned after a Tata Sumo plunged into mighty river Chenab at Ramban.
May 28: Five persons were killed after a mini-bus rolled down into gorge near Banihal.
May 30: Thirteen persons including six children lost their lives as a Tata Sumo plunged into deep gorge at Digdol near Ramban.
June 18: Seven persons including a couple got killed when a truck rolled down into Khooni Nullah.
July 13: Two persons were killed when a truck rolled down into River Chenab near Mehar in Ramban district.
