JAMMU, Aug 9: In a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) filed by Shambu Nath and Laxmi Cricket Club seeking directions to the respondents against using Parade play ground as parking spot, Division Bench of High Court comprising Justice Dhiraj Singh Thakur and Justice Bansi Lal Bhat today issued notice to Chief Secretary, Director General Sports, Commissioner JMC, DGP and Parade Sports Associations returnable within three weeks.
In the PIL, it has been submitted that residents of Jammu are being denied of their right to play due to use of Parade play ground for the parking of vehicles. “If the authorities are not directed from restraining the parking of vehicles in play ground, there will be irreparable loss to property and the people will be denied of their basic right and their right to play”, the PIL said.
Advocate Jang Bhadur Singh Jamwal appeared for the PIL.
