DC, DIG assess situation at Kreeri

Srinagar, Aug 9: Day after a police officer allegedly abused and slapped two senior Government school officials in Kreeri area of Baramulla, senior police and district admintration officers visited the school to assess the situation.
Yesterday, a Deputy Superintendent of Police of police’s Special Operation Group had allegedly slapped and abused vice-principal and a lecturer of Government Higher Secondary Institute Kreeri after entering inside the premises of the school.
Though the officer refuted allegations leveled by the school officials, but police ordered an enquiry into the incident and appointed Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) Manzoor Ahmad as enquiry officer.
Senior civil and police officials visited the school and met with teachers and assured fair investigation in the matter.
The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Baramulla, Farooq Ahmad Lone and Deputy Inspector General (DIG) North Kashmir, Ghulam Hassan Bhat, visited the school and met the teachers. The DC and DIG assured that the matter would be fairly investigated.
District president of Teacher’s forum Raiq Ahmad demanded that the FIR be lodged in the case and the accused officer should be transferred.
