Expressing concern over the move of the Union Government to shift the Registrar of Companies Office from Jammu to Kashmir valley, State general secretary of BJP Sat Sharma said there is no logic in this decision.
He said that the number of corporate professionals working in the Jammu region was more than 80 per cent of the total professionals working in the State and the Companies having their offices in the Jammu region are again more than 2300 as against 1300 in the Kashmir region. The Jammu region is the main industrial hub in the State, he said.
Sharma said that the state of turmoil, long lasting strikes, stone pelting in Kashmir would interrupt the services of the RoC and Ministry of Corporate Affairs (MCA). Also it would be impossible for other stakeholder to approach RoC offices in such conditions.
All other Government offices, including the Reserve Bank of India, Directorate General of Foreign Trade, CPWD, State Bank of India, other public and private sector banks, Life Insurance Corporation of India and other companies are located in Jammu, he said questioning why the RoC should be shifted to Kashmir valley.
He warned that any measure to enforce any decision upon the people of Jammu region against their aspirations and wishes shall be resisted and may compel the affected stakeholders to show resistance.
