JAMMU, Aug 11: To develop the scientific elementary glossary of agriculture in Dogri language, a five day workshop on the English-Hindi-Dogri Glossary was organized by the Commission for Scientific and Technical Terminology (CSTT), Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India at Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences & Technology of Jammu (SKUAST-Jammu).
Shailender Singh, Assistant Scientific Officer (Agriculture) from the Commission elucidated the objective of the workshop before the experts and invited threadbare discussion before finalizing the scientific and technical terms in Dogri language. Mr Nautiyal, former secretary CSTT and the Commission’s facilitator assisted the experts in coining the technical terms.
Experts from various fields discussed and developed Scientific and Technical Glossary of Dogri language. The team of experts involved with developing the glossary were Dr J P Sharma, Dean Faculty of Agriculture, Dr S K Gupta, B C Sharma, V S Verma, R K Gupta, P S Slathia, Parshant Bakshi, Vishal Gupta from SKUAST -Jammu; Dr Yash Pal Sharma Jammu University; Dr N K Attri Degree College, Udhampur; and Joginder Pal Saraf (Chhatrapal) Dogri news reader, All India Radio, Jammu an eminent Dogri writer and national award winner.
This exercise shall go a long way to evolve and define scientific and technical terms in Dogri language as envisaged under Article 344 of the Constitution.
