NOWSHERA, Aug 13: The people from Beri Pattan and Ladoka area accompanied by local Beopar Mandal members under the banner of All Party Joint Action Committee held strong protest demonstration in the town here today and disrupted movement of traffic for about an hour.
The people from Beri Pattan are opposing decision of the Government to connect their villages with newly created Sub-Division at Sunderbani. They said that Nowshera was most convenient to them and moreover, it was more closer than Sunderbani.
The people from Ladoka alleged that tehsil status to Lam Ladoka had been approved but later the area was rejected and Qila Darhal was accorded tehsil status. He said politics was played with the people of this area. They are demanding grant of tehsil status to the area and warned the Government to launch massive struggle.
The people raised slogans against the ruling Coalition Government, local MLA and Congress MLC besides SDM Nowshera. President Beopar Mandal D V Gupta and All Party JAC convener B K Gupta addressed the gathering. It was decided during the rally that Nowshera would observe two days’ bandh on August 14 and 15 and people would observe Black Day on August 15 and boycott the official function.
