Zinc extends weakness in futures trade, down 0.22 per cent

NEW DELHI, Aug 14:  Zinc futures prices today edged lower by 0.22 per cent to Rs 138.80 per kg largely in line with a weak trend at the spot markets due to sluggish demand and a subdued trend overseas.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, zinc for delivery in August fell by 30 paise, or 0.22 per cent, to Rs 138.80 per kg, with a business turnover of 543 lots.
Likewise, the metal for delivery in September fell marginally by 30 paise, or 0.21 per cent, to trade at Rs 139.65 per kg, with a business turnover of nine lots.
Marketmen said sluggish domestic demand and the metal’s weakness at the London Metal Exchange, put pressure on zinc futures here. (PTI)
