KATHUA, Aug 14: The induction programme for ninth batch of MBA students of Kathua Campus, University of Jammu, was organized at Kathua.
Prof Pankaj Srivastava, Dean Students Welfare, University of Jammu, was the chief guest while Vikas Gupta, Branch Manager Axis Bank Ltd, Kathua was special guest on the occasion.
Prof Pankaj Srivastava interacted with the students and dwelt upon the expectations industry has from management graduates in terms of knowledge and ability. He advised students to strive for expertise by specializing in a particular area and stressed on the need for adaptability. He said that people should change their attitude and way of working as a part of organizational change besides possessing multiple skill sets in order to perform well in the corporate world. He also assured students of Kathua Campus that special initiative would be taken up to organize inter-campus cultural events to promote the spirit of competition and festivity amongst student across the campuses.
Vikas Gupta shared his corporate experience with the students citing examples from banking and financial sector. He mentored students to look beyond these current trends and focus on emerging areas of opportunities. While emphasizing on the need for synchronizing individual goals and direction of efforts, Mr Vikas emphasized upon the need for inculcating a learning attitude and professionalism, thus culminating into success.
Earlier Prof Neelu Rohmetra in her welcome address, advised the MBA students to contextualize and align their learning at Kathua Campus with industry specifics as the corporate ambassadors of Jammu University. She emphasized upon making best use of knowledge resource with the Campus to ensure holistic development.
The new batch of MBA students was formally inducted and presented with induction kits. The function was attended by the academic co-ordinator, faculty members and the staff of Kathua Campus.
