Nowshera town observes complete bandh

NOWSHERA, Aug 14:  Nowshera town observed complete bandh  in protest against the decision of  the Government regarding deletion of some areas from Nowshera Dub Division and denial of tehsil  status to Lam-Ladoka.
The people under the banner of All Party Joint Action Committee including Beopar Mandal observed complete bandh today. All the shops and business establishments remained closed and the  movement of vehicles  was not allowed. The people from Beri Pattan and Ladoka area accompanied by local Beopar Mandal members under the banner of All Party Joint Action Committee held strong protest demonstration at Patel Chowk  in the town here today. They also disallowed movement of traffic for several hours.
The people from Beri Pattan are opposing decision of the Government to connect their villages with newly created Sub-Division  at Sunderbani. They said that Nowshera was most convenient to them and moreover,  it was more closer than Sunderbani.
The people from Ladoka alleged that Tehsil status to Lam -Ladoka had been approved but later the area was rejected and Qila Darhal was accorded tehsil status.  They are demanding grant of tehsil status to the area and warned the government to launch massive struggle.
The people raised slogans against the ruling Coalition Government, local MLA and  MLC besides SDM Nowshera. All Party Joint Action Committee convener  B K Gupta addressed the gathering. He appealed all the people to boycott official function tomorrow. The people have decided to observe Black Day on August 15 and observe complete bandh in the town.
