This has reference to the news item ‘Accountability Commission all set to be defunct from Aug 20 ” DE Aug 15.
It will be a great setback to fight against corruption in the State and demonstrates Government’s unwillingness to deal with persons involved in corruption.
The Government should have by now appointed the new incumbents to the office who would carry on the task forward. Leaving institutions like Accountability Commission without office bearers may be a blessing in disguise to the corrupt people. They would never like that it functions properly.
