2 women among 7 Vaishno Devi pilgrims injured en route Bhawan

JAMMU : Seven Vaishno Devi pilgrims including two women got injured in landslides due to heavy rains en route Bhawan situated in Trikuta Hills of mountainous Reasi district.

“Seven pilgrims got injured in landslide late last night near Devi Dwar area on the new track when they were heading towards the Bhawan to pay obeisance at the cave shrine,” police sources here today said.

They said that rescue teams of police and Shrine Board immediately rushed to the spot and shifted the injured to Katra hospital from where they were rushed to the Government Medical College and Hospital Jammu.

The injured were identified as Ram Dass, son of Pancham Singh, Shubham Rathore, son of Ram Dass, Phulwati Devi, wife of Chander Bhan, all residents of Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh, Vijay Kumar, son of Jia Mehtab, Anita Kumari, wife of Vijay Kumar, residents of Sitamarhi, Bihar, Satinder Chakerborty, son of Raja Rajna Chakerborty, resident of Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh and Vishwanath, son of Goel Mohan, resident of Howrah, West Bengal.
