JAMMU, Aug 18: Four youth were arrested by Bari -Brahmana Police today for attacking another youth, and inflicting serious injuries on his person by sharp edged weapons and lathis.
According to police a group of four youth attacked Jatinder Singh with sharp edged weapons after he had an altercation with the Vikrant alias Billa their accomplice. The assailants also attacked Karnail Singh, father of Jatinder Singh who tried to rescue his son from the clutches of assailants, police added.
Jatinder and his father received grievous injuries and they were shifted to Government Medical College (GMC) Jammu in serious condition.
All the four assailants fled from the spot. Later a police team led by SDPO, Bari Brahmana, Shehzad Salaria launched a man hunt and arrested all the four assailants who have been identified as Vikrant alias Billa, Vinod, Mohit and Majid. Majid, who is brother of Rafiq, a ring leader in the area, also received some minor injuries during the clash.
The Bari Brahmana Police has registered FIR No 97 under Section 307 RPC and started investigation.
