JAMMU, Aug 18: Chief Patron of National Panthers Party (NPP) and member of NIC Prof Bhim Singh warned the political leadership in the country to end political anarchy, uncertainty and constitution disparity vis-à-vis J&K imposed by the Constituent Assembly through Article 370.
Addressing a press conference at Kota, Rajasthan, Prof Singh said, Article 370 was a temporary phase meant to curb the power of the then Maharaja Hari Singh, adding that all the monarchs, maharajas and rulers in all Indian States were eased out except in J&K.
He said that present political anarchy, chaos, terrorism and uncertainty is the product of Article 370 and people of all the three regions–Ladakh, Kashmir and Jammu have been suffering because of Article 370.
Prof Singh blamed National Conference (NC), PDP and BJP for the present mess which has been created to keep J&K boiling so that communal divide can help both sides during elections.
He Singh said that it is the high time that the Parliament amends Article 370 to empower Parliament to extend the jurisdiction of Indian Constitution with its fundamental rights to Jammu and Kashmir.
Prof Singh wondered on the silence of Narendra Modi, Prime Minister on the issue of Article 370 and India’s Foreign Policy in his address to the nation on August 15. He also regretted that PM has been playing with old and out dated agenda only for communal divide.
Prof Singh said that J&K is a national problem and confederal State with three State formations (Ladakh-Baltistan, Kashmir valley and Jammu-Muzaffrabad) is the only way out which is possible through an amendment in Article 370. The Parliament can save J&K with rest of the country, he added.
Ashok Vapna, President of Rajasthan Panthers Party was also present during the press conference.
