Army Chief denies Chinese incursion in Ladakh’s Burtse area

NEW DELHI :  Army Chief Dalbir Singh Suhag today denied  any incursion by Chinese troops in Ladakh’s Burtse area.    The Army Chief said ‘no, nothing like that’ while replying to a question whether Chinese troops had entered in the Burtse area of Ladakh and their movement was upto 25-30 km deep into the Indian territory.
His reaction was sought amid emerging reports that the Chinese troops’ intrusion was noticed on Sunday in the northern Ladakh and those troops were holding flags, claiming it was the Chinese  territory.
Army sources here have already made it clear that transgression takes place due to difference in perception of two sides about the Line of Actual Control.    Congress leader Manish Tewari aired his surprise over such statements and said the defence ministry must clarify the actual position and added it was surprising that the government was trying to justify the intrusion highlighting the issue of perception about LoC between the two countries.  (AGENCIES)_
