KATRA, Aug 20 : Dr. Ashok Bhan, Member, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board, accompanied by Dr. Mandeep K. Bhandari, Chief Executive Officer of the Shrine Board, today visited Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Institute of Medical Excellence at Kakryal and took stock of the security arrangements required to be put in place in the institute.
Governor N. N. Vohra, who is Chairman of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board, has been stressing on the need for conduct of critical appraisal of the SMVDIME Complex from security perspective. In this context, Dr. Bhan conducted a detailed review of the same and advised the CEO and Engineering Wing, SMVDSB to undertake certain interventions for ensuring the security and safety of the complex.
Later, Dr. Bhan, who is also Chairman of the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Sports Council, inspected the ongoing works at the Multi-purpose Sports Stadium, Katra being established by the Shrine Board. He inspected the works being undertaken to commission the complex early. He was informed that the main stadium building will be able to accommodate more than 2000 spectators. In addition to the main building, a basketball court and a volleyball court have been made ready.
He was informed that the laying of natural grass turf in the ground is going on a fast pace while the automatic pop-up sprinkle irrigation system stands already installed. He inspected various component works including the entry gates, approach road and boundary wall. Dr. Bhan impressed upon the CEO to ensure timely completion of the works.
Dr. Bhan also visited Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Spiritual Growth Centre (SGC) at Katra and took stock of various facilities made available for the pilgrims and visitors. He was informed about the recently launched website of SGC and the response being received on this account. Dr. Bhan emphasized on the need for optimum utilization of the facility.
Neeraj Gupta, Chief Accounts Officer, Anil Sharma, Dy. CEO, Rajinder Singh, OSD, Dr. Vinod Gupta, Director Medical Services, Subhash Gupta, Superintending Engineer, SMVDSB were among the other officers present during the visit.
