Irate people protest, block NH at Bari Brahmana

JAMMU, Aug 20: The irate people held a demonstration at Bari -Brahmana near SIDCO Chowk and also blocked Jammu-Pathankote National Highway for half an hour this morning demanding arrest of three persons responsible for a murderous assault on a youth and his father in the town few days back.
The protestors raising slogans also torched the effigy of the Government demanding that the mastermind of murderous attack on father -son duo be immediately arrested. The shopkeepers also downed the shutters of their business establishments and joined the protest.
To pacify the agitating mob the SDPO Bari Brahmana, Sajjad Salaria visited the spot and assured the people that the mastermind of the assault will be arrested within days as the police has already launched man hunt to nab them.
He sought some time from the people saying that the law will take its course and police will not show any let up to any body how influential he may be.
Later DC Samba, Mubarak Singh and SSP Samba, Anil Magotra also reached the spot and assured the agitating mob that the culprits will be arrested.
The protestors were demanding the arrest of three persons who were the mastermind of the murderous attack on father -son duo. They included Avinash Kumar, Rafiq a history sheeter and Ajay Atri.
SSP Samba informed the people that some persons have already been arrested involved in the attack and investigation was on. Later the people dispersed on the assurance of senior civil and police officers.
