JAMMU, Aug 20: The casual and need base PDD workers held protest demonstration near Press Club here today.
The workers under the leadership of Sesh Kumar, provincial president assembled at the Exhibition Ground near Press Club in the morning and started protest. They were raising slogans in support of their demand.
They alleged that their record was sent to the S&O wing Jammu several times, but it was not further forwarded to Development Commissioner Power for further consideration. The concerned Chief Engineer has been playing with the career of hundreds of workers. They further alleged that many workers have not been paid their wages since long and they were being made to work without pay. General secretary of the union Mohinder Singh urged upon the concerned PDD authorities to release the wages of the poor and helpless PDD workers.
