JAMMU, Aug 20: Army and police today recovered a consignment of arms, ammunition and explosives from a hideout of the militants at village Nachlana in Ramban district.
Official sources said the troops of Rashtriya Rifles accompanied by Special Operations Group (SOG) Ramban and police carried out a search operation at Nachlana this morning and busted hideout of the militants.
Recoveries made from the hideout included one AK-56 rifle with three magazines and 329 rounds, 137 Pika rounds, five Chinese grenades, 7.5 kg RDX explosive, one Icon radio set, two radio set antennas, one IED circuit and one medical kit.
Sources said the successful operation by the joint team of Rashtriya Rifles and police has dealt another blow to nefarious designs of the militants, who were planning to revive their activities.
Army and police conducted searches in Nachlana and surrounding areas after the recoveries but no arrests were made, sources added.
