JAMMU, Aug 21: Some parts of old city including Panjtirthi, Kachi Chawni and Purani Mandi localities are facing acute scarcity of drinking water for last three to four days and people living in these areas have been put to lot of problems due to same.
Expressing serious concern over the problem the inhabitants of these localities have made an appeal to the Government to find out a permanent solution to the problem by taking up a major water supply project in hand for the Old City.
They said that PHE Department should come out with an everlasting solution to the problem otherwise the impending water crisis will lead to a public unrest in the area.
Expressing the hope that the Department will consider the seriousness of the situation, the people expressed the hope that PHE authorities will look into the problem and find out a solution to it to avert the water crisis in future.
