3 killed in accidents

SRINAGAR, July 17: Three persons lost their lives in separate road accidents while as a woman who was injured in road accident few days back succumbed to her injuries in the hospital.
Reports said that a nine year old girl namely Tania daughter of Dr. Muneer Ahmad resident of Batamaloo-Srinagar died after being hit by a CRPF vehicle at Pantha Chowk on the Srinagar-Jammu national highway. Tania was hit by the CRPF vehicle as she had kept her head out of the Tata Sumo she was traveling in along with her grand father.
Tania suffered serious injuries in her head at the site of the accident and she was shifted to hospital for treatment. However, she succumbed to her injuries on way to hospital. Her death triggered protests in the area. The protesters demanded action against the CRPF driver .
The protesters blocked traffic on the Srinagar-Jammu national highway thus leading to huge traffic jam in the Pantha Chowk area. The jam spread to the other adjacent areas on the highway and people removed stranded for hours together while heading towards their respective destinations.
A Tata Sumo bearing registration number JK03A/6055 hit and injured Suna Khan aged 70 years son of Ghulam Qadir resident of Matigawran at Brakpora, Anantnag. The injured was shifted to hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.
An Indigo bearing registration number JK01S/2380 turned turtle near Snow Land Hotel, Sonamarg, resulting in on spot death of a pedestrian Farooq Ahmad Kawa aged 30 years, son of Ghulam Mohammad resident of Boatman Colony-Bemina, and injuries to two persons. The injured were shifted to hospital for treatment.
Meanwhile, a woman identified as Mala wife of Mohammad Akbar Gassi resident of Pantha Chowk who was injured in a road accident on July 14 at Zewan crossing Pantha Chowk, succumbed to her injuries at SKIMS-Soura.
A motorcycle bearing registration number JK22/0260 hit and injured a pedestrian Abdul Salam Bhat son of Mohammad Ramzan Bhat resident of Ganopora at Ganopora-Shopian. The injured has been shifted to hospital for treatment .
A Mahindra bearing registration number JK05B/3399 turned turtle at Wussan, Kunzar in Baramulla district, resulting in injuries to two persons including the driver. The injured have been shifted to hospital for treatment. A case has been registered in this regard.
