JAMMU, Aug 22: Four people died while three were injured in two separate road accidents on Jammu –Pathankote National Highway in Ghagwal area late last night and early this morning.
According to police an Indica car bearing registration number PB11Z -8940 which was on its way from Jammu to Kathua late last night skidded off the road near Sand Bari (Ghagwal). Out of four inmates of the car two died on spot and another died this morning in the hospital while fourth is undergoing treatment at GMC Jammu. His condition is also stated to be serious, police added.
The deceased have been identified as Joginder Lal, son of Hari Krishan and Sukhwinder Singh, son of Gandharav Singh both residents of Haryana. The injured were identified as Sunil Kumar, son of Baldev Raj resident of Karnal and Surinder Singh, son of Teja Singh resident of Sangroor. The duo were rushed to GMC, Jammu where Sunil succumbed to his injuries this morning, police said.
In another incident early this morning one person was crushed by a Santro car bearing registration No HR 20 -4546 on Jammu Pathankote-National Highway near Sangwali under the jurisdiction of Ghagwal Police Station. While the person driving the Santro car and his wife were injured. The duo were identified as Pardeep Choudhary son of Siv Ram, resident of village Adampur Bishnah and his wife. Both were rushed to GMC where they are undergoing treatment.
The deceased at the time of accident was brushing his teeth during the time of accident near a truck which was parked on road side.
The Ghagwal police has registered a case under relevant sections of the law.
