Col Dhillon elected president WGFI

SRINAGAR, Aug 22: The Annual General Meeting of Winter Games Federation of India was held on Wednesday at Mohali Chandigarh in which 21 members representing different affiliated units of WGFI took part. Various issues related to development of winter games in India were discussed threadbare.
Finally the general elections of the Federation were held under the supervision of Raja K S Sidhu, Secretary General of Punjab Olympic Association as observer from Indian Olympic Association.
Col JS Dhillon, Principal Indian Institute of Skiing and Mountaineering, Gulmarg was elected new president of WGFI. He defeated Maj Gen (Rtd) A Malik and Brig (Rtd) SS Patwal by huge margin, while Roshal Lal Thakur of Himachal Pradesh retained the post of Secretary. The other winners included S A Wani, RC Negi and KC Kapoor (Vice-Presidents),  Satpal Verma (Treasurer), BC Thakur, NS Huda and Col SP Malik (Joint Secretaries).
