“We have launched searches in the entire wood area from different directions to nab the militants,” sources said.    The encounter ensued last evening after troops of Rashtriya Rifles (RR) and state police launched a joint operation at Zloora Gujjarpati area following a tip-off about the presence of militants there.
When the security forces were sealing the area, militants opened fire with automatic weapons. Troops also retaliated and the exchange continued for some time before the militants escaped under the cover of darkness, they said.    Because of darkness and to avoid civilian causalities, the operation was stopped, they said, adding that security forces in the nearby camps were alerted and with first light this morning, a
massive search operation was launched from all sides. (AGENCIES)
