Geetika Kohli’s book hits stands

JAMMU, Aug 24: Heritage Strings – ‘School of Rock’, Bakshi Nagar and City Square Mall, organized the launch of Geetika Kohli’s book, ‘The Lost Sonnet and Other Poems’ here today. Prof. Neelam Mohan, HOD, English Dept., Govt. College for Women, Parade Ground, presided over as the Chief Guest. The event began with a student of Heritage Strings-School of Rock, Naturedeep Kour taking the audience on a retro sojourn, singing/playing various musical gems from the 70s Bollywood on guitar. This was succeeded by Geetika Kohli, enlightening the assemblage about her book and reciting a few poems from the new anthology.
The book was released by the Chief Guest and the special guests in the presence of a huge crowd comprising of several noted dignitaries from the city. Subsequent to the release, the highly talented, ‘Lion of Judah’ Band enthralled everyone with a scintillating performance joining hands with the youngest drummer in the town Divij Kapoor who played drums with Lion of Judah. The leading educationist Prof. Ajay Kotwal & Prof. Neelam Mohan gave their valuable comments about the launch of the book.
Director, Heritage Strings-School of Rock, Anmol Amla concluded the event with a word on the growing importance of art and related fields in the city and urged all present to do their best to encourage participation in music, literature and performing arts. The event was coordinated by Sanchit Dewan. The Show was hosted by Kunal Anand and Ashish Gupta. Other present at the occasion were Bhupesh Gupta, A.S.Bains, Prof. B. C.
