Public service is our religion: Congress leader

JAMMU, Aug 25: Ex-MLA and member PCC Executive, Thakur Shiv Dev Singh, today said that Congress is working for the prosperity of the people and public service is its religion and motto. He castigated BJP and some other political parties for spreading falsehood based on caste-based narrow thinking to divide the people and weaken the unity of the country.
Addressing an impressive public meeting at Kuthar in Nagrota constituency, he said Congress stands for values justice, inclusiveness and equal respect to all faiths because Congress unites people but some political parties are trying to divide them on religion line.
He said Congress wants everyone to march ahead together towards prosperous modern India leaving no one behind because Congress is committed to take all people from all parts to live happily throughout the length and breadth of the country.
Earlier, local populace highlighted their problems including shortage of electricity and drinking water, dilapidated condition of roads, un-employment and shortage of school teachers with the Congress leader who assured that their genuine demands would be brought to the notice of concerned authorities.
