SC advice

Sir,
This has reference to the news item ‘No minister with criminal charges’ DE Aug 28.
After Supreme Court’s decision that Prime Minister and Chief Ministers should not induct in their ministry people against whom charges have been framed in criminal and corruption cases, the onus on having a clean cabinet rests on the chief executives.
In order to run Governments whether State or Central efficiently it is imperative that people without any blemishes be at the helm of affairs. How can unsavoury elements respect the law of land, and give justice to people when  unsavoury elements themselves have been offenders?  Besides, the judgement reveals that Prime Minister  or Chief Ministers are wise enough to keep these elements who have a criminal background at bay, and there is no need for judiciary to interfere in such matters.
The ball is now in the court of PM and CMs, and they must ensure that no politician with a criminal background is inducted into the Cabinet.
Yours etc…
