JAMMU, Aug 29: In response to the launch of Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojna (PMJDY), J&K Bank, Jammu North Cluster-1 organized various camps in the twin districts of Udhampur and Ramban.
Thirty six camps were organized by J&K Bank in District Udhampur in which 1526 accounts were opened. Similarly, 19 camps were organized by J&K Bank in District Ramban in which 1034 accounts were opened.
Peoples were made aware of the various schemes which shall be made people to them under this project. In these camps accounts were opened so that households are brought under the ambit of banking fold.
At Udhampur, Yasha Mudgal, District Development Commissioner, Udhampur officially launched Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojna (PMJDY). The function was coordinated by State Bank of India in this district in which Iqbal Singh, Cluster Head, J&K Bank along-with Branch Heads of J&K Bank branches in Udhampur district participated. The function was attended by Rakesh Jamwal, Chief Planning Officer-Udhampur, Anil Grover, Assistant General Manger of SBI and LDM, State Bank of India among other bank staff. A good number of public turned up for the occasion and counters were established by J&K Bank in collaboration with Khidmat Centers to facilitate the hassle free opening of accounts.
Meanwhile, State Bank of India (SBI), Akhnoor organized camp at Soungal village, where accounts were opened under the said scheme. Chief Manager presented the welcome address and need for opening such accounts was highlighted. The function was attended by sarpanch Kuldeep Raj Sharma, panch Om Parkash, Rattan Lal, Headmaster of local school, Som Nath and other prominent citizens of the village.
