GANDERBAL, Sept 1: Minister for Rural Development and Panchayats, Ali Mohammad Sagar today directed the officers to ensure that fast pacing of various schemes is undertaken by the Government for the holistic development of the State so that they are implemented fully and people get benefits from these.
The Minister was addressing officers during the District Development Board meeting of Ganderbal which was convened under his chairmanship. The board approved the district plan at Rs. 74.32 crore.
The board meeting was attended by Minister for Forests, Mian Altaf, Member Parliament, Tariq Hamid Karra, MLC, Sheikh Ghulam Rasool, District Development Commissioner Ganderbal, Sarmad Hafiz and divisional heads of various other departments.
Mr. Sagar said that the Government has undertaken several schemes in different sectors like PHE, R&B, RDD, Health, Housing etc so that holistic development of the State is ensured. He said that these have been instrumental in changing the socio-economic profile of the area and also provide the much needed job avenues to them. “Clear instructions have been passed to the implementing agencies to ensure their timely completion and also involve people at grass-root levels in their implementation”, he added.
Minister for Forests, Mian Altaf Ahmed also spoke on the occasion and highlighted the various issues pertaining to his constituency. He said that we have to ensure that the benefit of various welfare programmes reaches the targeted populace by ensuring maximum utilization of the funds.
MP, Tariq Hamid Karra and MLC, Sheikh Ghulam Rasool also addressed the meeting and highlighted various issue of public importance.
Earlier, the Minister accompanied by the Deputy Commissioner Ganderbal and other senior officers conducted an extensive tour of the district to oversee the implementation of various welfare programme. He directed the officers to ensure timely completion of the developmental works undertaken for the holistic development of the district.
Mr. Sagar while inspecting the pace of work on the 200 bedded hospital at Ganderbal directed the MD JKPCC to ensure that it is completed within shortest possible time so that people get the requisite and quality health care facilities within the district and they do not have to travel to other districts in order to get the specialized treatment.
The Minister also directed the Director Urban Local Bodies and Chief Engineer R&B to fast pace the work on the Bus Stand being constructed with an estimated cost of Rs. 12 crore and spread over 90 kanals of land at Ganderbal so that passengers travelling to other parts of the district and catchment districts do not face any inconvenience.
