SRINAGAR, Sept 1: The State Government today announced committee headed by Chief Secretary to monitor and examine the formulation of State policy on trans-genders.
An official spokesman said that a 12-member committee led by State Chief Secretary has been framed vide Govt order No. 972-GAD of 2014, dated 1-9-2014. While Chief Secretary is the chairman, Secretary Social Welfare department is convener of the Committee. The other members of the Committee are- Principal Secretary to Government Planning and Development Department, Principal Secretary to Govt Finance Department, Principal secretary to Govt Home Department, Commissioner/ Secretary to Govt Revenue Department, Commissioner/ Secretary to Govt Health and Medical Education Department, Secretary to Government Labour & Employment, Secretary to Government School Education Department, Secretary to Govt RDD, Secretary to Govt Technical Education and Secretary to Government Department of Law and Justice. The committee would suggest adequate measures to be put in place for the welfare of the Transgender community.
