JAMMU, Sept 2: Bhartiya Gujjar Mahasabha (J&K) president, Eshfaq-ur-Rehman Poswal, has demanded from the President to impose Governor’s rule in the State alleging that the State Government has failed to protect the people on account of continuous firing from across the border by Pakistani troops.
The demand was raised by Eshfaq-ur-Rehman Poswal, who along with a delegation called on the President of India, Pranab Mukherjee at Jammu, today. Governor N N Vohra was also present in the meeting.
“The State Government has been running away from its responsibility of taking care of the people suffering from cross border firing by shifting the responsibility on the Central Government”, Poswal alleged.
He said that the people are getting killed, their property damaged, and many have migrated leaving their native places. “But the State Government has failed to provide them basic amenities as well as safe shelters”, he alleged adding, “The Ministers just issue statements that the people are taken care of, but on ground the situation is exactly different”.
Further Poswal also demanded from the President, to ensure proper implementation of Tribal Sub Plan so that the Gujjar and Bakkerwals are benefitted.
