FoI members take up issues with Mukherjee

JAMMU, Sept 2: The Federation of  Industries  Jammu led by its chairman Annil Suri met the visiting President of India Pranab Mukherjee and apprised him of the issues related to industrial sector.
In a memorandum submitted to the President of India, the FoI delegation urged upon him to take up issue with the Prime Minister for the growth of Industry in J&K. The Federation demanded restoration of 100 %  refund of Central Excise  Duty paid to the Industrial units, 100 %  Income Tax exemption for units, implementation of the recommendations of  Prime Minister’s Task Force on MSME, applicability of existing industrial package of incentives to existing units, compulsory purchase by Central Government organizations, development of new industrial estates with joint ventures, upgradation of Jammu airport, development of inland container depot at Bari Brahmana with rail link connectivity, setting up of big  PSUs etc.
The President gave patient hearing and assured the delegation to take up the matter on priority basis with the Prime Minister.   Prominent among others who accompanied Mr Suri included – Balbir Gupta, Lalit Mahajan and Varinder Jain.
