Mir asks Govt deptts to ensure timely delivery of services

JAMMU, Sept 2: Emphasizing the need for close liaison among  line departments, the Minister for Tourism, G.A Mir today asked the Government functionaries to be prompt and extra vigilant in delivering the  services required by the people.
The Minister was chairing a high level meeting of senior officers convened to review functioning and achievements registered in Jammu division under core sectors here today  at Summer Secretariat .
The meeting was attended by Commissioner JMC, Kiran Wattal, Director Tourism Jammu, Soujanya Sharma, Director Health Services Jammu, Baljeet Singh Pathania, Additional Commissioner Jammu, Rehana Batul, Chief Engineer PHE, Sushil Aima, Joint Director CAPD, Manmohan Singh besides other senior officers of concerned departments.
The Minister asked the PHE and PDD to take steps to improve    power and water supply in the division especially in rural areas for agriculture purposes. He instructed the flood control authorities to remain present at their respective places of posting round the clock and ensure that all urgent works are done on priority.
Mir also enquired about the status of mega projects being executed under tourism sector in Jammu division. Director Tourism informed the chair that the work is in full swing on all projects.
The Minister also took stock of health services being provided to the people and asked the concerned authorities to take preventive measures to avoid spread of water borne and other diseases in view of prevailing rainy season. He stressed on the need on holding awareness programmes so as to generate awareness among the people.
Minister directed the CAPD Department to ensure adequate availability of wheat, rice, sugar and other essential commodities in all parts of Jammu division for the convenience of the people. He also impressed upon the officers to personally monitor the ration supply to far-flung and remote areas of the region to ensure hassle free ration supply.
The Minister also reviewed functioning of R&B, Rural Development Department, Jammu Municipal Corporation, JDA, Agriculture and asked the officers to make every effort to ensure better and timely services of their respective departments.
