NEW DELHI, Sept 3:
Justice H L Dattu will be the next Chief Justice of India, as President Pranab Mukherjee has cleared his appointment.
He is the second senior most Supreme Court judge after Chief Justice R M Lodha who will retire on September 27.
The name of Justice Dattu was forwarded by Narendra Modi Government to the President of India for his approval. Justice Dattu will be administered the oath of office by the President on September 27.(UNI)
